Lash Care

How to prepare

Are your eyelashes going to great lengths? Get excited for your extensions! At Snooty Girl, we provide the highest quality eyelash extension service to add durability and fullness to your natural lashes. They are individually applied to each existing lash, not the skin, for a naturally full look. Each set of extensions are custom designed, waterproof, and long lasting. The procedure is easy and painless—to make it go even smoother, follow these tips before your extension appointment:

Fresh face

Remove all eye makeup (temporary lashes, mascara, eyeliner, eye shadow) before your appointment to save time or else your lash stylist will have to spend additional time to remove your makeup. Use a mild, oil-free cleanser to eliminate excess oils around the eyes. Avoid applying sunscreen or moisturizers around your eyes to ensure proper adhesion.  Try not to use waterproof mascara 2-3 days prior because it leaves a residue that could prevent extensions from sticking correctly. Also, don’t curl your lashes because it works better to apply extensions when they are as straight as possible. If your lashes need to be permed, please do so no later than 3 days prior to your appointment.

Come clean

Shower and/or wash your face prior to your appointment. It is important to eliminate contact with water and steam as much as possible within the first day of your appointment so that the adhesive of the extensions can properly set with your natural lashes.

Remove contacts

If you wear contacts, we recommend removing them for the appointment to avoid any discomfort. This will allow your eyes to be in their most natural and rested state as they are closed throughout the session. Wear glasses instead, or bring a contact lens case to remove them.

After Care

Now that we've taken your lashes to new heights, it time to step out into the world and be fierce.

Although eyelash extensions definitely save you a ton of time getting ready in the morning, you do need to follow some special methods of caring for your lashes including tweaking your skincare regimen a little bit so that they last as long as possible.

First and foremost, avoid getting your new lash extensions wet for 24 hours after application, and avoid swimming and saunas for 48 hours. Shower and/or wash your face prior to your appointment. It is important to eliminate contact with water and steam as much as possible within the first day of your appointment so that the adhesive of the extensions can properly set with your natural lashes.

Tip #1 Don't Pick at your lashes

This is crucial to the longevity of your current set of lashes and future sets to come. When your lashes are pulled or tugged they are removed from the hair follicle (the structure that grows the lash) can be damaged; affecting the future growth of that lash. Lashes are one of the most delicate hairs on your body and should be dealt with gently-try to only touch the when brushing and cleaning.

Tip #2 Have a cleansing routine

We recommend cleansing your lashes every other day, if you have oily skin we recommend cleansing everyday with the xtreme lashes eye makeup remover and facial cleanser. Proper cleaning will make them last longer and prevent eye issues such as:

  • keeping follicles healthy so they do not weaken or degrade
  • avoiding blepharitis—an inflamed, tender, flaky lash line
  • controlling demodex mites (eye mites) which thrive in unclean lash lines and cause a         reaction similar to that of an allergy
  • reducing buildup of oils, makeup and dirt that inhibits the adhesive

How to properly cleanse, dry and style

Using a lint free applicator sponge, saturate the sponge with the xtreme lashe eye makeup remover and cleanser and gently press the sponge onto your eyelash extensions wiping downward towards your cheek. Use the other side to cleanse your eyelids.

Using 2 lint free applicator saturated with eye makeup remover and facial cleanser and place one above and one below your lashes. Perform gentle scrubbing motion for the base to tip.

Rinse, Dry and style your lashes. Dry your lashes with a mini fan while using the xtreme lash deluxe retractable lash styling wand .
